Side Wall Rebounds
Balls that hit the side wall first behave differently than back-wall balls. The angle of incidence equals the angle of reflection — but spin distorts everything.
🎯 Key points
- ✓Side wall first = ball stays low and short. Move forward.
- ✓Watch for spin — a víbora rebounds sideways, not back toward you.
- ✓Always assume the ball will come closer to you, not farther.
- ✓A side-wall-then-back-wall ball loses ~40% of its pace by the second rebound.
🏃 Practice drill
Partner hits cross-court drives that target your side glass. Your job: read the rebound and return cross-court. Switch sides after 20 reps.
